    JOB SUMMARY
    The Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting all accounting functions such as, Monthly Closing, Business Management plans, daily bank accounts and funding, AR activities, monitoring credit reviews, issues, and assisting with the Quarterly and Yearly Financial Audits, as needed.

    Essential Functions Statement(s)
    1. Develop and maintain financial record keeping and reporting systems.
    2. Supervise billing, receivables, payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger functions.
    3. Monitor and follow up on receivables that have been outstanding for unusually long periods.
    4. Produce monthly financial statements including balance sheet, profit/loss statements,
    and accumulative general ledger using a computer-based accounting system.
    5. Ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records monthly.
    6. Prepare monthly closing general ledger entries.
    7. Review reconciliations to ensure that they are prepared properly and follow up on any unusual items.
    8. Oversee filing of property taxes, sales, and use taxes.
    9. Oversee filing of tax forms including 1099’s, Business Privilege Tax.
    10. Oversee, in conjunction with independent tax, prepare for Partnership tax returns.
    11. Oversee, in conjunction with the independent auditor, preparation of annual
    audit.
    12. Ensure adequate controls are in place, i.e. policies, procedures.
    13. Reconcile bank and investment accounts, and prepares related journal entries.
    14. Supervise the preparation of invoices.
    15. Supervise Staff Accountant and Administrative Assistant.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES
    Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
    Experience: 5 + years of demonstrated credit and collection experience.
    Computer Skills: Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.
    Other Skills: Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, reliable team member, and organization with excellent time management skills, ability to establish work plans, multi-task, and prioritize simultaneous projects.
