    The Systems Administrator will help to manage the technical infrastructure behind the company’s leading internet publications.
    The Systems Administrator will have a MINIMUM of 3 years of work experience and in-depth knowledge of RedHat Linux operating systems as a system administrator. This includes system configuration and performance tuning, scripting, automation, troubleshooting in a 24/7 production environment, and LAN support.
    A successful applicant will be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and used to working effectively in an on-call rotation.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    Ability to work seamlessly with software developers, project managers, and business development
    An ingrained commitment to following projects and problems through to resolution
    3+ years experience managing RedHat Linux in production environments
    3+ years experience managing Apache web servers
    2+ years experience managing MySQL databases, including MySQL Cluster, or related High Availability Database experience
    Confident scripting skills: primarily PHP — Perl and sh/bash, Python and KSH helpful
    Strong SQL
    Protocol-level familiarity with HTTP, SMTP, DNS and LDAP
    Experience working with production monitoring systems such as Nagios, NetSaint, WhatsUpGold or Mon.
    Experience working with web load balancing systems (UltraMonkey, LDirector, HAProxy, F5 BigIP, Resonate Central Dispatch, Alteon, Cisco CSS, etc)
    Experience with DR/Business Continuity and data backups Thorough understanding of distributed networking environments
    Significant data center experience including power, equipment installation, and cabling
    Experience implementing packet filtering and firewalls (OpenBSD PF, PIX, Fortigate, pf family, netfilter); IDS systems a plus
    The following are highly desirable:
    RedHat, MySQL or SuSE certifications
    BSD systems experience (especially OpenBSD or FreeBSD)
    Cisco router experience
    OpenView or other SNMP experience
    Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory
    Experience interoperating Exchange and Internet mail environments
    Experience with version control systems (CVS, Perforce, Subversion)
    Experience working with vendors and neighbors in the technical community
