A headhunter told me regarding this isuse in the following way:
“my career within the current company is not progressing as it should be. And I wonder what other opportunites are out there for me. Your company may be a better home for me…”
I thought this approach may work because you ar not criticizing the previous company and still looking for other opportunities. I hope this helps.
