2007년 8월경에 NIW로 영주권을 받았습니다 (저와 와이프). 아이들은 미국시민권자입니다.

2009년 5월이나 6월경에 한국에 일자리때문에 귀국해야 하는데, 와이프와 저의 영주권 유지를 위해서 무슨 서류를 이민국에 제출해야 되는지요?
서류는 어디에서 받는지 알고 싶습니다. 제가 알기로는 처음 4년간은 미국으로 들어오지 않아도, 영주권 유지에는 문제가 없다고 알고 있습니다만..
그리고, 그후 6개월에 한번씩 미국에 들어와야 영주권이 유지된다고 들었습니다.

그리고, 세금 보고나, 다른 social secutiry benefits도 생각해야 되고, 하여튼 머리가 복잡합니다.

혹시 아시는 분이 계시면, 알려주시면 감사하겠습니다.

답변감사합니다. 시민권은 아직 생각하지 않고 있습니다. 영주권만 계속 유지할려고 하고 있습니다.

re-entry permit을 받으면 2년간 국외에 머물 수 있습니다. 단 permit을 받기 위해서 biometric을 해야하는데.. 신청한 후에 biometric기다리는 시간이 2-3개월 걸린다고 하니 미리해놓으시기 바랍니다.

BTW, if you are not planning to get citizenship and you are working in Korea, why are you bothered by keeping green card? your children are U.S. citizen. They do not need your immigration support at all.

–> He and his wife come back to Korea, so it looks like children do as well, can you take care of your children in the U.S. while you and your spouse both are in Korea?
