ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under policy direction from the Team Leader and Project Sr. Manager, the Project Engineer position is in charge of managing the Project during the entire project period in terms of schedule, cost, safety and quality.
• Scheduling and Progress Control
Project Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction schedules with Construction superintendents and the Subcontractors. All the schedule activities, dates, lagging activities and critical paths shall be discussed and coordinated together with the Superintendents by each disciplines and Subcontractors. Project Engineer shall be fluent at using Primavera P6 Program. In addition to that, Project Engineer sets up the progress measurement system with the Subcontractors, and based on the PMS, Project Engineer verify the progress by daily, weekly and monthly basis.• Cost Control
Project Engineer is responsible for monitoring cost and commitment through requisition and invoice review. Based the progress report submitted by the Subcontractors, Project Engineer shall check the achieved quantities, progress and the invoice by bi-weekly basis and/or monthly basis. Project Engineer might have to use SAP system (or other system) to control the Subcontract budgets, amendment of the budgets, invoicing, back-charge and so on.• Contract & Claim
Project Engineer has the knowledge about the contract and claim management. Subcontractor would issue change orders, prolongation claim and disruption claim with the associated costs, then the Project Engineer has to defend ourselves by fact finding and analysis on delay and disruption. It sometimes requires clarification and commercial negotiation between Subcontractor and Contractor.• Risk Management
Project Engineer shall identify potential risks which might affect us in terms of cost and schedule, and assess/evaluate the risks, establish the level of risk so that we could classify if these risks are mitigatable, transferrable or avoidable. Based on the risk assessment, we prepare the insurance budgets.• Expediting Material Delivery
Project Engineer shall also be responsible for expediting material delivery. From the procurement schedule, a Project Engineer shall keep track of the plan/actual delivery status and what’s currently delayed and/or going to be delayed in future, and expedite the Vendors and Subcontractors for the material purchase and delivery to the Required on Site Date.Qualification/Requirement
• More than 3 years of experience in Project Management
• Computer literacy (preparedness to learn and manage computer software packages necessary for office work, especially related to communication and information management);
• Good interpersonal and communication skills;Desirable
