These are the bagels of a lifetime. This shop has been a constant in flushing for more than my 42 years. I wish they would reopen. “Sure, it was a no-frills shop. Don’t expect a ton of variety, fancy spreads, or sandwiches. But their bagels were one of a kind. Crunchy on the bottom, airy yet doughy on the inside, light as a feather. You could eat 3 in one sitting when they’re hot. You will never find such a perfectly crafted bagel ever again. I pray to god it’s not over for JK Bakery, a place my entire family lovingly referred to as, “union street bagels”. I would have purchased a separate freezer to store 1,000 of their bagels if I had known I’d never again have the chance to savor their excellence. We love you, JK.”
