서부지역에 한 3년 살고있는데, 동부로 옮겨볼까 합니다.

주변 미국인들에게 물어보니 동부 사람들은 서부 사람들하고 많이 달라서 외국인에게 관대하지 않고 해서 가지 말라고 말립니다.

일례겠지만 여기서는 일년에 크리스마스 파티 할 때 이외에는 정장을 입지 않는데 동부는 매일 양복을 입고 출근한다고 하더군요.

동부에 사시는 분들, 직장 분위기하고 동네 분위기가 어떤지 답글 바랍니다.

I have lived on both coastal area and I don’t think eastern people are less tolerant of foreigners. Generally speaking city people are more used to different races whereas people in rural area are less familiar with foreigners. Dress codes depend on the character of the job, not on the area. And also, you cannot generalize “east coast”. There is a lot of variation in there too.
