미국의 한인 사회는 교회를 중심으로 돌아 가는 느낌이 듭니다.

한국에서 종교가 없던 사람들도 미국에 가서는 한인 교회에 다닌다고들 하더군요.

교회에 가지 않으면 사람도 사귀지 못하고, 도움도 받기가 어렵기 때문이라는데…

미국의 한인으로서 교회에 다니지 않고 잘 사시는 분들도 많이 계신가요?

저는 교회에 가지않고 살고 있지만 교회가고 싶은 생각은 없습니다.
한국사람 만나면 대부분의 사람들이 교회에 안가고 일요일에 뭐하냐고 묻습니다.

어떤 한국사람은 일때문에 일요일에 전화를 급하게 했는데 일요일에는 전화를 삼가해 달라고
하면서 싸가지 없다고 욕도 들었습니다.

참이상한 현상인것 같습니다. 교회에 가지 않으면 꼭 따돌림을 받는것 같은 느낌을 받습니다.

한국에 있을때 교회에 다니는 사람들을 보통 성실하고 예의있고 다른사람들보다 좀 더 낫다고
생각해 왔습니다.

그러나 여기는 그런것 같지 않은것 같습니다.

그래도 그렇게 잘 살지는 못하지만 가족끼리 위로해 가면서 하루 하루 미국생활에 적응해 가면서 살고 있습니다

교회 다니지않고 10년 넘게 살고 있습니다. 남들이 보기에 잘 사는지 모르지만 나름데로 잘(?) 살고 있습니다.

저도 교회는 다녀 볼까했는데 주위에 아는 한국 사람중 교회에 나가지 않는 사람들이 훨씬 더 좋아 보이더군요. 자기 교회에 나오라는 많은 사람들의 말과 행동이 과연 종교를 믿는 사람일까 의심스럽고(자기만 알고 자기 교회가 아니면 모두 적군이라고 생각하고 있는듯), 한국적인 의식 기준으로 사기꾼에 가까운 사람들이 많더군요. 물론 모두가 그럲다는 것은 아닙니다. 일부는 그렇지 않는 사람들도 봤습니다.

사람 사귀는 것은 나름입니다. 종교 생활하지 않고도 사람을 사귈수도 있고, 교회 나가면서도 사람을 사귀지 못할수도 있습니다.

교회를 다니는 일 같은 종교를 갖는 일은 좋다고 생각 합니다.

하지만, 교포사회의 교회는 좀 문제가 많은 것 같습니다.

아시다시피, 교포 사회는 많은 분들이 주 6일에서 주 7일 일하시는 분들이 많습니다.

그런데, 이런 분들이 그 단하루 쉬는 일요일에 교회를 가야만 한다면,

가족들 만의 시간을 어떻게 보내느냐 였습니다.

일요일에 교회를 가야 하기 때문에, 가족들과 근처 근교에 놀러 갈 시간이 없다 합니다.

물론, 교회를 통해서 그런일들이 이뤄 지기는 하지만,

뭔가 이상하다는 생각이 들었습니다.

물론, 주일에 교회를 가는건 좋은일이지만,

그걸 통해 뭔가 더 중요한 무엇인가를 잃지 않고 있느냐에 대해서 생각 해 볼 필요가 있다 생각 합니다.

저희 가족도 한 10년 넘는 미국생활동안 종교를 가지지 않고도 나름 잘 살고 있다고 생각합니다.

사실 비교적 깨친 사람이 많을것 같은 대학촌에서도 서로 어떤 교회 다니느냐로 편가르고 반목하는 유치한 행태를 보고 저 틈에 끼지 않으리라 다짐했었습니다.

비교적 한국사람들이 많이 몰려사는 대학촌에서는 그래도 교회에 다니지 않아도 한국사람들하고 놀(?) 일이 상당히 많았습니다.

그런데 직장을 잡고 정말 정착이란것을 하고 보니, 한국사람들도 비교적 몰려산다고 해도 학교아파트 몰려살던것과는 비교할수도 없고 교류가 적어지긴 했습니다. 그래서 단지 외롭다는 이유로, 애들의 정체성 같은 문제로 가볼까 하는 생각이 들긴 합니다만 한국수퍼 앞에서 전도하는 사람들보면 또 그런 생각이 사라지기도 합니다.

우리 교민 사회에서 교회 등의 종교기관이 차지하는 의미가 얼마나 큰지 잘 압니다. 요즘처럼 인터넷도 없던 시절, 오로지 앞에 먼저 온 사람들한테 의지할수밖에 없고 처음 미국와서 겪는 문제들, 사실 같은 교회사람들의 도움밖에는 길이 없었을듯 합니다. 그런데 요즘은 종교기관 특히 개신교는 너무나 많이 빗나간것 같아서 종교 자체만 바라보고 거길 가기가 많이 꺼려지는게 사실입니다.

무엇이든지 열심 하면서 사세요.
무엇이 옳은지가 중요한것이 아니라 계산과 목적을 종교에 연관 시켜더 안되겠죠.
교회에 물론 여러종류의 사람이 모이지만 글쎄요 어디를 가도 마찬가지겠죠.
옳고 그른것보다 신념을 갖고 각자에 충실 하십시요.
종교에 종류가 얼마나 많습니까….흔하게 보이는 것만 가지고 판단 하지 마시고 물론 기독교가 접하기 쉬운 요즘이지만 우리 한국사람 주체성이 많이 부족해 왔다갔다,했다가 말았다 하니 ….바탕이 흔들리지요.
겸손하게 남 탓하지 말고 본인에게 충실 하시고 교회나 절이나 아님 다른 종교를 택하실때 남보다 본인이 어떻게 해야 하는가를 먼저 생각 하십시요.
형식적 ,이해적 ,계산적으로 다니는 분도 많지만 옆에서 보면 좋은 신앙을 하시는 분도 많습니다.

미국에 와서 교회에 다니게 되었고, 나름 주님을 열심히 섬기던 신도였습니다만, 한국 기독교와 한인 교회들의 위선에 크게 실망한 후부터 교회와 담을 쌓고 살고 있습니다.

필요에 따라서 은근슬쩍 방향이 바뀌는 목사님의 설교와, 귀에 붙이면 귀걸이, 코에 붙이면 코걸이가 되는 성경 해석등등…..보통 기독교인들은 저에게 “시험 들었다”, “마귀가 쒸었다.” “믿음이 잘 못돼서 그런다.”라고 하더군요.

대도시의 한국 교회는 각종 사기꾼들의 본거지에, 서로 속고 속이며 싸우는 장소가 되어 버린지 오래입니다. 점잖은 장로가 영주권을 미끼로, 새 신도의 재산을 빼앗아 버리고 시치미 떼는 이야기는 이곳에서도 읽은 기억이 있군요.

아무튼, 교회에 다니지 않지만, 진심으로 남을 도울줄 아는 착한 사마리아인으로 살아 보려고 애쓰고 있습니다.

한국교회도 그렇고 미국내 교회도 그렇고 정말 많이 퇴색되고 진정한 예전의 그런 목회자들과 교회가 드문 것이 사실입니다.

미국에 있는 한국교회는 특히 조심해야 할 것이 정말 “사기”치거나 “사업”을 위해서 오시는 분들이 참 많습니다. 그렇다 보니 정말 이런 저런 말도 많고 문제들이 많이 생기는 데 저도 그런 사기성 문제들을 큰 교회에서 보니 정말 문제가 있다는 생각이 들더군요.

그리고 한국내 교회에 정말 많이 퇴색(?) 되었습니다. 80년대 초만해도 목회자들이 정말 배고픈 직업이었고 사명감없이는 감히 할 수 없는 그런 직업이었지만, 지금은 차마 입에 올리기도 힘든 그런 문제들이 얼마나 많은지요?

물론 안그런 분들도 많지만 이제는 그런 참 신앙인들은 정말 찾아보기가 쉽지 않습니다.
한국에서 돈없는 분들은 교회를 가기도 힘들 다는 것 아시는 지요? 등록해서 십일조, 헌금 잘 못내면 그 그룹에서 자연스럽게 도태되는 그런 것을 느끼게 되는 그런 시스템으로 변질 되서 많은 분들이 상처를 받고 나오고 있습니다.

어쩌다 이렇게 되었는지…기독교 뿐만 아니라 다른 종교들도 헌금의 액수가 수십에에서 몇백억이 되다보니 문제가 얼마나 많은지 모릅니다.

자살자가 그토록 많아져도 누구하나 정말 관심을 가지고 노력하는 정화의 모습이 보이지 않지요. 참 신앙의 순기능이 떨어졌기 때문입니다. 좋은 프로그램 좋은 건물 등이 교회의 기준이 되어가고 있으니…

그래도 미국에서 한국교회에 나가면 이런 저런 많은 도움을 받을 수는 있습니다.
그리고 만약 자녀들이 미국에서 정말 미국사회에서 성공하기를 바란다면 한국교회 보다는 미국교회에서 신앙생활하는 것이 바른 길입니다.

한국교회에 있으면 물론 좋은 면도 있지만, 거의 일주일에 삼사일은 교회일에 참여하게 되는데 그러다보면 자연스럽게 한국커뮤니티를 벗어나지 못하는 우물안 개구리가 되어버리는 단점이 있습니다.

영어가 어느정도 되면 한국사회를 벗어나 다른 문화와 다른 경험을 쌓으면서 신앙생활 하는 것도 권장됩니다.

결론은 정말 어디서부터 어떻게 손을 대야 할지도 감이 안오는 한국의 종교들…정말 큰 사회적 문제인것은 확실합니다. 더더욱 깨어 있어야 한다는 말입니다.

지난 10년 이상 교회 계속 다니며 사는 사람입니다. 저는 다행히 비교적 작고 학생이 주로 많은 교회를 다닌지라, 그런 심각한 트러블은 교회에서 보지 않았습니다. 한 동네의 큰 교회에서는 알고보니 이런 저런 말이 많더군요.

사람을 모아 놓으면 이런 문제들이 꼭 발생합니다. 무슨 동호회 이런 곳들도 처음에 잘 나가다가 이상하게 되고 싸우고 갈라지고 그럽니다. 교회도 사람이 모여 있으니 당연한 것이고, 순수한 의도로 오지 않는 사람도 있으며, 설사 순수하다고 해도 사람이 못나서 벼라별 문제를 다 잃으키기 마련입니다. 좋은 사람들이 모인 곳에 간다고 생각하고 교회에 가면 100% 실망이죠. 가장 구린 사람들만 모인다고 생각하는게 좋습니다.

하여튼, 교회를 꼭 가셔야 될 것 같다고 (비종교적인 이유로) 생각이 드시면, 가보시되 절대로 함부로 사람들을 믿고 마음을 주거나 친해지지 마시고 적당한 거리에서 오래 지내세요. 그게 아니라 별로 갈 필요를 못느끼고, 여지껏 안다니고 잘 살았다면 계속 그렇게 하시면 되죠.

남들이 다 하니까 나도 왠지 해야하지 않을까…는 교회를 나가는 최악의 이유일 것 같습니다. 필요하다고 느끼면 나가고, 아니면 그냥 하던대로 계속 지내시죠.

8년째 한인 교회 나가는 agnostic-atheist입니다.

제가 한인 교회 나가는 이유를 원글님이 직설적으로 잘 적으셨네요: “교회에 가지 않으면 사람도 사귀지 못하고, 도움도 받기가 어렵기 때문이라는데…”.

생각해보니 사실 전 그보다 더 절박한 이유로 나가는 것 같습니다. 살아남기 위해서랄까요.

이민/유학 오신 분들 중 한인 교회 안다니고 잘 사시는 분들 많이 보았습니다. 하지만 만약 그 분들이 교회나 성당을 나가셨으면 그보다 훨 수월하게 미국생활 하셨을 거라고 개인적으로 생각합니다.

그 이유는 초대형 한인타운이 있는 도시를 빼고 한인 사회를 형성하는데 있어 한인 교회가 독점적 지위에 있기 때문입니다. 교회를 안나가면 다른 한인 알게될 기회가 없어지고, 더 나아가 교회를 안나가는 사람만 보기를 원하는 건 사회적 자살행위나 다름없는게 현실입니다.

원글님의 종교/철학이 어떠신지 모르겠으나, 만약 저와 비슷하신 분이시라면 교회나 성당을 담 쌓거나 적으로 생각치 마시고 나가시라고 권해드리고 싶습니다. 나가셔서 당당히 나는 안(못)믿는 사람이다 라고 목사님께 알리세요. 대부분의 경우 아주 환영받을 겁니다. 만약 그렇지 않다면, 환영해 주는 교회로 찾아 가시면 됩니다. 믿지 않는 사람에게 십일조 내라고는 강요하지 않습니다.

유학생 시절에 잠깐 나갔던 동양인 2세 교회에서 작은 충격을 받은 적이 있습니다. 그 교회에 열심히(?) 나오는 청년들 중 나중 알고봤더니 믿지 않는 친구들이 여럿 있더군요. 원글님께서 교회나 성당에 나가셔서 어떤 사람을 만나게 될지는 안나가 보고는 모를 일입니다.

원글입니다. 여러 케이스의 경험들을 다 읽어 보아도, 어렵기만 하군요. 신념과 실리 사이에서 갈등을 많이 하게 될 것 같습니다.

글쎄요, 뭐가 어려울까요? 어느새 미국에 산지 10년이 훌쩍 넘었는데, 교회 안 나가도 잘 살고 있습니다. 원래 교회에 안 다니는데, 미국에 왔다고 나가야 하는 특별한 이유가 있나요? 외로움이 문제인가요? 일, 가족, 친구, 취미 생활로 잊으시길 권해드립니다. 꼭 교회를 나가야만 친구가 생기는 것은 아니잖아요? 물론 친구중엔 교인인 친구들도 있지만, 꼭 교회에서 그 친구들을 볼 필요는 없죠. 교회에서 받는 도움? 어떤 도움을 원하시는 지 잘 모르겠지만, 혼자서 해결해 나가는게 결국엔 본인에게 더 도움이 되지 않을까요? 실수와 시행착오에서 끊임 없이 배워나가는게 인생 아니던가요?

항간에 떠도는 말로는 미주교포의 70%가 교회에 출석한다는 기사들이 있습니다. 사실인지는 모르겠는데 그만큼 신앙을 떠나서 이런 저런 많은 이유로 출석을 한다고 생각됩니다. 실질적으로 혈육이 없는 미국이민사회에서 옆에 누가 가까이 있어주는 것만으로도 이웃사촌이 더 가깝다는 말을 체험하게 됩니다. 급하게 차가 망가졌을 때, 자녀픽업, 병원, 등등 인근에 누구 아는 사람이 있으면 모르겠지만 없으면 당장 급하게 교회교인들에게 크고작은 도움을 받을 수 있습니다. 특히 자녀들이 어릴 때, 한국학교라도 보내고 한국말을 가르쳐주는 곳, 또 토요일오전이라도 아이들 봐주는 곳도 교회일수 있구요. 새지역에 처음 이사갔을 때, 어느학군, 주거지역등등 요즘이야 인터넷의 도움을 받을수 있지만 그래도 얼굴맞대고 비슷한 환경의 사람들이 서로 마음을 나눌 곳도 교회입니다.
물론 교회만은 아닙니다. 같은 학교동료들이나 동창들, 동호회, 아는 사람들을 찾게 되지만 특별한 모임으로 남편들만, 아내들만, 자녀들만의 모임이지 가족들이 모두 참여하기는 교회만큼 쉽지는 않지요.
사람들이 모이는 곳이라 많은 부작용도 있기 마련입니다. 서로 가까이 지내다가 싸우기도 하고, 아이싸움이 어른싸움되기도 하고, 돈거래등등 불미스런 일이 일어납니다만, 이것은 정확히는 교회의 문제가 아니라 사람사이의 문제입니다. 동창들이라고 이런 일이 안일어나는 것은 아니지요. 같은 직장에서도 싸울수 있는 것이고, 같은 아파트에 살아도 문제는 생깁니다. 다만 교회라는 매개체 때문에 교회가 욕을 먹습니다. 교회다니는 사람이라고 다 교인일수는 있지만 크리스챤은 아닙니다. 서로의 상식으로, 조심할 필요는 있지요.
구더기 무서워 장못담그냐는 말처럼, 장단점을 알고 자신이 취할 점만 취하면 됩니다.
이민교회에 출석하는 이유는 정말 다양합니다. 외로워서, 도움받고자, 이성을 만나고, 한국음식 먹고, 자녀 배우자 찾고자 등등 하나도 나쁜 것이 아닙니다. 사람에게 너무 기대하지 말고, 저사람도 나와 마찬가지야 하고 기대치를 낮추면 됩니다.
혼자살면 너무도 외로운 이세상에 함께 삶의 희노애락을 나눌수 있는 혈육도 가까이 없으면 이웃사촌이라도 없는 것보다는 훨씬 낫습니다.

교회를 가고 안가고는 어짜피 여러가지 동기로 가는것이니 본인이 선택할 사항이지만, 교회에서 행하는 전도방식에 요즘 많이 짜증이 나있는 상태입니다. 뭐 마트나 공공장소에서 하는 행위야 별 문제없는데 요즘 집으로 방문하여 정말 집요하게 전도를 하시네요. 몇달을 매주 토요일 11시쯤 거의 매주 사람바꿔서 초인종을 누르시더군요. 한곳에서 오시는지, 아니면 여러곳에서 오시는지는 잘 모르지만, 관심이 없음을 예의바르게 밝히는 대도 끊임없네요. 어제오신분은 일요일날 11시에 오시더군요. 본인은 교회에 안가시는지. “인상이 참 좋으세요”로 시작하시는데 흡사 한국에서 “도”를 전파하시는 분같더군요. 처음엔 동네분들일것이고 저희 아이가 다니는 학교의 학부모일수도 있고, 머 특별히 반감을 가질것 없어 공손히 대했는데, 정말 프라이빗한 질문들을 아무생각두 없이 건네시더군요. 해서 요즘은 관심없다고 사무적으로 말하고 보내긴 하는데 즐거운 주말의 시작에 기분이 썩 근사하진 않네요. 시대가 많이 달라졌다고 생각하는데 젊은분들이 오래전방식을 답습하여 전도하러 다니시는 분들을 보면, 과연 내가 현재를 살고 있는건지 싶기도 합니다. 종교인들의 생활을 존중받고 싶으시듯 비종교인의 생활도 존중해 주는 성숙한 한인교회가 되길 바랍니다.

주위에 교회다니시는 분들 보면 존경스럽습니다. 일주일에 3번이상은 교회나가시고, 성가대다, 구역모임이다…. 토,일은 새벽부터 저녁까지 교회일로 바쁘시더군요. 저는 일요일 1시간 성당에서 미사보는것도 힘들어하는데… 쩝

그냥 지다가려다가 짜증나는 리플이 보여서 시비좀 걸어 봅니다.

교회안다니면 지옥간다는 저주를 사람들 보는 게시판에다 싸질러야 하는 이유가 뭔지?

그럼 전세계의 비기독교인과 100여년 이전 우리 모든 조상들이 다 지옥갔다는 얘긴가?

이런식의 전도가 더 짜증나게 하더군요.

교회에 안 나가고도 잘 산다 이네요

아직 학생입니다만….

제가 있는곳에 한국사람이 그렇게 많지 않은 곳인데, 처음 왔을때 교회 나가기 싫다고 하니 얼마 후에 저 세팅하는거 도와주지 말라고 하는 말이 제귀에도 들어오더군요. 그것도 학교 다니는 인간들 입에서 그런말이 나왔죠. 거기다 처음에 정신없어서 모임 나가는거 시간없다고 거절했더니 완전 난도질 당했죠. 역시나 같은 교회. 그리고 그 교회쪽 사람들이랑 안보고 사니 한국인들 전부 안보고 살게 되더군요.

그냥 속편하게 학교안에 있는 미국 성당 나갑니다. 그덕에 미국 친구들 많이 생겼죠.

저도 교회를 믿지 않고 다니는, 솔직히 갔다가 안갔다가 하는 사람중의 하나입니다. 물론 교회에 큰 도움을 받은 적은 없구요, 대신에 여러경로를 통해서 봉사는 하고 있습니다. 여기 많은 분들이 교회의 안 좋은 경험을 말씀해주셨는데, 개인적으로 좋은 경험도 듣고 싶습니다. 처음 미국 정착시 구할 수있는 여러 많은 도움들 말구요,,,그후 잘 정착해서 오래 사시는 동안에도 구할수 있는 어떤 장점들이 있는지 궁금합니다.

교회를 다닐 수록 한인사회에 발이 묶여 미국사회안의 조그만 섬에 갇혀사는 듯한, 그리고 하느님을 믿어야 복을 받는다는 중압감에 내일에 몰두하지 못하고 교회사람들과 어울리고 있는 저를 발견하고 많은 회의를 느꼈습니다.

반면에 마눌님은 위급할 때 도움을 청하면 사심없이 잘 도와줄수 있는 사람은 교회를 통해 묶여있는 사람밖에 없다는 생각에, 교회를 벗어날 경우 가지게 될 불안감떄문에 맘이 항상 찜찜해 합니다.

물론 교회분들중에 착하고 좋은신 분들 많으신거 같습니다. 서로 잘 챙겨주구요,,,또 직장이나 주변에서 그래도 교회를 정말로 아니 하느님을 진실하게 믿는 분들은 그래도 믿을만한 거 같습니다.진실되시구요…같은 교회는 아니지만 그런분들이 제가 어려울때 정신적으로 많은 도움을 주십니다….그래서 하느님을 믿어야겠다는 생각도 들구요,,,아마도 이건 교회와는 약간 무관한거 같습니다. 하지만 사람이 나이가 들어가면서 아주 힘들어질때는 아무래도 교회에 가서 하느님을 찾는 경우를 너무나 많이 봤습니다 지금도 주위에서 많이 보이구요….

여러 부작용도 많지만, 좋은 경험도 나눠주시고 바람직한 방법은 무엇일까,,,의견이 교환되면 좋을듯 싶습니다.

위의 짜증나네님….. 천당지옥을 안믿으면 상관없는 일이지만 그래도 누가 지옥가라면 기분나쁘지요? 왜그럴까요? 기왕이면 지옥보다는 천국이 낫지요? 안믿는 사람이면 별로 신경쓸 일도 아닌데 왜 짜증납니까? 그냥 지나가면 되지…..

교회다니시는 분들이 이렇게 말장난을 잘 하시더군요.

야 이 미친놈아 ~ 욕해놓고, 미친놈이라고 하니 기분나쁘지? 그러니까 미친짓 안하면 되잖아? 이러는거랑 뭐가 다릅니까?

기독교 신앙을 가지고 있지 않아도 지옥이 나쁜개념이라는것은 잘 압니다. 그런데 신앙이 없어도, 너는 불구덩이에 떨어져 고난을 당할거라는 말은 저주인데, 믿지 않으니 뭔 상관이냐구요? 그럼 안믿는 사람한테는 온갖 저주를 다 해도 안믿으니 상관없겠군요. 그게 성경에서 가르치는 내용입니까?

그러니 안티가 생기는 거지요?

왜 기독교인들이 욕을 먹는지 기독교인들만 모르는거 같네요 -_-

사회…………교회역시 그의 연관이 되는지…………..인간이 사회적인 동물이라 그곳에서 어울려야 하는건지…..
어렵게 생각 하지 마시고 과연 사회란 단어와 연관이 되는구나 합니다.

조금 역설적인 것이요 미친 사람에게 미친 놈이라고 하면 욕이 되지만 정상적인 사람에게 미친사람이라고 하면 정상적인 사람은 내게 하는 말이 아니구나라고 넘어가지요. 비정상적인 사람이 너 나에게 욕했어? 하고 대들지요.

천당지옥이 나와 전혀 상관이 없다면 지옥이 천당일수 있고 천당이 지옥일수 있는데 무슨 상관이겠습니까? 이건 제 3세계의 전혀 나와는 상관없는 다른 차원의 이야기인데? 마치 한국말하는 사람에게 아랍말로 뭐라고 한들 이해가 안가는 것과 마찬가지 아닌가요?

말장난은 여전하시군요.

2. Why Robert Parker, bishop’s delegate, elected the trustees, church officer, by unregistered church members? [12] Did he try to establish an illegal group initiates these fake lawsuits? Yes! They really did so in the Jesus masks.

3. According to Rev. Noel Chin, he and Bishop E. Lyght discussed for more than two hours about the fake mass murder charges and other cases? Why didn’t they verify their falsities?

4. Why Rev. Claire Samuel agitated to call police in violation
of the parliamentary rules when I tried
to present the church embezzlement case on the floor “legally” to the Charge Conference? [22]

5. Are they bribed by Rev. Won Tae Cha group to carry on the fake criminal procedures of the Charge Conference?

6. Who secretly informed Hon. Judge F. Dana Winslow that the mass murder case was church related and real?

UNETHICAL CENSORSHIP BY BISHOP AND HIS CLERGIES

I had so much bully treatment from Rev. Won Tae Cha, and I have tried to communicate with other the bishops. Bishop E. Lyght seemed to have misinformation from others about our problems. Sadly he was lacked an analytic capacity to judge moral issues.

REV. CHA’S MOB ASSAULTS AND FAKE MURDER CHARGES

The trouble began when as the Board Chairman, I and the Trustees disagreed with Rev. Won Tae Cha’s proposed illegal spending of the Building Trust Fund.

Since then he factionalized his staff, accusing me falsely as embezzlers assaulted me collectively in public. Anyway how an ordained clergy is so violently acted upon his innocent church officer? Purging the church officers, he organized such powerful mobs in the church. However, the embezzlement accusation found to be false. Isn’t it a stinky sign of church corruptions?

Then he organized with deviant members to purge the faithful elders and other officers to drive the good members out of the church. Most notorious case was a group assault the choir conductor who refused to follow Rev. Cha’s biased purge plan. Eventually he destroyed the fine choir.

Then they hijacked the church assets. Then his group rampage of the series of lawsuits began against us as their scapegoats.

In 2000, Bishop E. Lyght fired him although he resisted it. Yet he continued to work with his group in the church to file three lawsuits against our family – my beloved wife, my beloved son and me – with false accusations, one case suing me and my beloved son as attempted mass murderers.

For all of these fake lawsuits, they collected numerous fake affidavits from the status seekers to falsely accuse us, to shoot down us as their enemies with the affidavit guns of the false prophets. Aren’t they mobbing clergy group?

Judge F. Dana Winslow revealed that some one from the Episcopacy deceived the Judge that the mass murder case was true and church related although it was fake filed by Rev. Won Tae Cha, fake Columbia MBA Steve H. Park, fake M.D. at CUNY Sophie Davis, Young So Kim and others. They demanded $4 million damages for extortion. But they understood they could go to jail if the case goes on trial and they took judge shopping process and asked Hon. Winslow to withdraw the case.

Hon. Winslow knew their falsities and warned their lawyer Povman,

“If you bring back this case again, you will loose the license to practice law in the State of New York.”

We demanded Bishop Park to clarify the case, but he refused to reveal who deceived Judge Winslow. Why the bishop wanted to cover them up?

BISHOP’S CENSORSHIP

Then, I was very happy to learn that a Korean bishop with the same Korean cultural background was to come to the New York Annual Conference.
I tried to communicate with the Episcopacy, among others, sending a petition to him to examine our circumstances. But surprisingly apathetically there was no response to the petition from the Bishop, although there were two spiritual leaders Rev. Dr. Alexander Hast, Former District Super Chuck Gummer, advised him gracefully. [19]

Even if IT IS NOT pleasant messages on church problems, yet the leaders should at least acknowledge its receipt as a CIVILIZED MANNER. Then, if needed,
proper follow-up steps should be taken to deal with the problems.

A dark aged ignorant Korean method should not be applied irrationally to any church affairs in this cyberage.

Without any notice, Bishop Park and his assistant blocked my serious emails about the age-old deviant clergy misconducts in this historic church. Even if you and your assistant have all the information about the church’s ills, yet it is not easy for you correctly manage the deviant ministry. However, if you do ignore the vital information, how could you manage correctly the house of God or rightly advise the deviant clergies, the church officers and church members.

It is nothing but a reflection of the misplaced leaders’ unhealthy state of faith and deficiency of Theological education; it is absolutely unethical management of Episcopacy to over look or cover-up the obvious ills

It could be said an immigrant church’s sign of the corrupt Korean habits –bad prejudice blindly relying on the words of corrupt clergies like Rev. Won Tae Cha, Rev. Sung Soo Hahn and Rev. Chul Woo Chang, so called deviant elders, etc.

BLIND GUIDES

The Book of Discipline clearly states the important of FREEDOM OF INFORMATION. [68 C0 BD 1996]
This principle is based upon the Biblical faith and applicable to the church administration. In that sense, your Episcopacy in violation of it based upon the dishonest information from the deviant clergies, elders so on from this Korean Methodist Church and Institute.

Therefore your decisions on the administration of this church absolutely misdirected. These facts are described in the letter to you now that is imperative to re-evaluate your administration according to the Biblical principles.

It seems to be a case, blind leads the blind. Jesus said, “So ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.” Mat 15:14.

As usual the immigrant Korean clergies seem to attempt, raising their status applying censorship to cover up any complaints, hindering free speeches and mutual communications among the members on the church affairs in violation of the clergy ethics, the teachings of the Bible, and commandment ”Thou shaft not give false testimony against your neighbor.” (9th)

The Episcopacy should not block any emails from any members on church affairs to the Episcopacy in order to learn what is happening in the local church environments.

Otherwise how the leadership could learn how to manage the actual circumstances of the local church events?

KOREAN FALSE PROPHETS

Alas! The church roof is falling down to the ground. For the disaster for the church is the result of the violation of 8th and 9th Commandments, “Thou shaft not steal; Thou shaft not give false testimony against your neighbor.”

See a land mark case of the trial of Msgr. William J. Lynn, a former cardinal’s aide, who found guilty endangering children, convicted of covering up sexual abuses by priests under his supervision. Bishop Park seems try to cover up the deviant criminal clergies for along time. For Rev. Chul Woo Chang 목사 is Rev. Won Tae Cha’s mentee was temporarily assigned to this church by the Episcopacy. However he ministered dishonestly it for 7 years, but you praised his ministry without knowing the reality through your delegated reader for his retirement service in June, 2012.

His ministry has been to cover up the criminal ministry of his mentor Rev. Won Tae Cha in violation all aspects of human decencies and the teachings of the Bible. Although they committed various cruel crimes against the innocent family in disgrace of the church, injuring them financially and emotionally.

Rev. Chul Woo Chang or (Paul Chang) 장철우 목사 declared to the congregation on his inaugurating pulpit, “Rev. Won Tae Cha is my mentor.”

Eventually your Episcopacy fostered the deviant ministry of Rev. Chang and his followers against Christian ethics to the time of his retirement according to the reality.

Consequently the Episcopacy seems to have played its role erratically as if fostering a ministry in lies and thievery for the Korean church into “A DITCHED” ghetto church as the dead end street.

However the deviant clergy leadership skillfully does propagate the falsities to the public through Video casting, Website, Korean radios or newspapers, cheating or opiating the naïve souls so that they blindly follow the destructive ministry of thieveries as in this Korean Methodist Church and Institute since Rev. Won Tae Cha – really money talks. Our Christian community should try to morally upgrade its mass media network.

WHO CAN RESCUE THE “DITCHED”?

How much corrupt is Methodist leadership? See the District supers’ sadly misconducts of the church meetings which demonstrated in fact during their deviant conduct of the official duties for the Charge Conferences. [14, 15] Some of them totally lacked any judgment on right or wrong, but Jesus – Fake Jesus.

Unless there is moral quality change of the District supers and clergies, many deviant ones could be elected as bishops through the established political mockeries which further damage fatally the spiritual nature of UMC.

The present case points to the importance of the qualified staffing of the Jurisdictional Conference too, as our experience indicate thee are many inept staffs.

REV. WON TAE CHA STOLEN $MULTIMILLION CHURCH ANTIQUE?

This incident seems to reinforce the notion of the Episcopacy misguidance. During the church renovation in 1993s, Rev. Cha reported to the Trustees the antique bathtub was thrown away by the worker although he was informed about the historical value of the antique bathtub by the Trustees in 1993s. But years later, it is known it was not thrown away, but owned by someone.

During the court proceedings against us at NY State Supreme Court, Rev. Won Tae Cha’s interpreter Mr. Pyun Sun Hwan told me at the Court that he once interpreted for Rev. Cha’s case of the bathtub lawsuit that Rev. Cha testified the bathtub valued about $2,000,000 at the time in 2000s. [7] It may be much more valued now.

Elder Hong Joon Kim of Rev. Cha group stopped him not to talk with me any more. Thus it was evident that the bathtub was not discarded, but they seem to have disputes among them on the ownership and had the lawsuit.

All the harassment against my beloved wife, my son and me with three fraudulent multiple lawsuits by them for many years, demanding $8,000,000 damages, seemed to have been to cover up the valued $multimillion stolen bathtub.

Noteworthy case of the three lawsuits is the cruel mass murder charges that I and my beloved son as attempted mass murderers” to kill fake Columbia MBA Steve H. Park, his family, his lawyer
and some church members.” [16] How an ordained clergy can file these kind cruel fake lawsuits against the innocent church members for his personal own interests? Are they really Christians?

Now we know that their Taliban like crusading lawsuits seem to have been to cover-up the valued stolen antique bathtub and the stolen church money at best under the leadership Rev. Won Tae Cha, Rev. Chul Woo Chang, fake Columbia MBA Steve H. Park, fake M.D. Young Kim at CUNY Sophie Davis and many other crusaders. [9]

REV. CHANG AND HIS GROUP COVERED UP

Rev. Chul Woo Chang 철우 목사 and his staff were well informed about these thieveries prior to the 90th Anniversary, 2011. But they ignored all the fraudulent lawsuits and Stealing of the church treasures to the date of his retirement, demonstrating his well organized hypocritical ministry based upon viciously fraud schemes in Judah way with the support of the Episcopacy.

In support of his criminal ministry, he demonized our elderly family to the dying congregation, alienating or demonizing us to them while the hypocrites acted as shining stars in the criminal church operations for more than twenty years since Rev. Won Tae Cha.

Prior to the 90th Anniversary in 2011 of this church founding, I specially notified Rev. Chul Woo Chang 장철우 목사 , his staff and the church members about the fate of the $multimillion bathtub. But they kept silence.
Your memorial sermon for the 90th Anniversary admired him so much without knowing their large scale lies and thieveries including the bathtub.

When Rev. Won Tae Cha 차원태목사 appeared at the memorial service, I instinctively challenged his presence, “How could you come to this church service, when you sued our family, especially my beloved son and me as attempted mass murderers?”

Rev. Chul Woo Chang was vocally supporting Rev. Cha in public, I challenged Rev. Chang’s dishonesty, and “How can you stand at the church gate in the clergy collar to greet the members?” These are the notoriously deviant clergies who exploited the naïve Korean immigrant church members.

You allowed a church representative read your congratulatory statement for his ministry on Rev. Chul Woo Chang’s retirement service. The reader was very well known money laundryman for the church conspirators’ lawsuit scandals – your praise for his fraudulent ministry seemed to be in contrary to the will of God –Isn’t it a morally bankrupt ministry? Probably, you should have been informed about their mockeries and my challenge against their bogus ministry on the 90th Anniversary service.

The transcript of the reader’s testimony for the sanctioned case would cost $1,300 that would reveal the abuse of the church money for the cruel lawsuits which could enlighten your Episcopacy.

CHURCH FINANCED FAKE MASS MURDER CASE

Who lied to Judge F. Dana Winslow?
According to the trial Judge F. Dana Winslow, 9th judge in the judge shopping process, stated that some members from the Episcopacy secretly informed the judge
That “the mass murder case was really church related” as if I and my beloved son real attempted murderers. It was absolutely deceptive information to the judge.

Was it a God’s servant trick to cheat the judge? It was fake mass murder charges conspired by Peoples Army trained Rev. Won Tae Cha차원태목사, fake Columbia MBA Steve H. Park, Fake M.D. CUNY Sophie Davis, saintly elders, etc. – church hijackers – following their purge of the faithful members out of the church.[10, 16]

According to the record, Honorable Judge F. Dana Winslow was cheated by Steve H. Park and others
While I was representing our selves as pro se as we were not able to hire a defense attorney and did not know very well what was going on.

Eventually, the judge and the dependents were cheated at their secrete meeting by the smart church officers in Jesus masks;

His honor stated that he met secretly with the church officers without defendants as follows:

“9. Between and amongst Mr. Park, the United Methodist
10. Church of the New York area, the synod of the State
11. of New York I believe, the Methodist synod of the
12. State of New York but at least the governing synod
13. Of the United Methodist Church of the New York area
14. and the Court. So the discountenance being offered
15. Is being offered without regard for any claims that…”

Since then, many times, I requested the Bishop Jeremiah J. Park to reveal those who cheated Judge F. Dana Winslow. Bishop Jeremiah J. Park and other church officers could have verified the persons met with the judge. However to date the Bishop unconscionably saintly manner is covering up their lies as a gospel, that is their crimes against God.

As a bishop, how can you allow them to harass the innocent members as mass murderers and cheat the court if you believe in God? How would you feel if they sue you and your beloved innocent son as attempt mass murderers? These events reflect nothing but the corrupt ministry under the District supers and the bishops’ supervision. Do you know what kind clergies are they if they have any faith in Christ? Aren’t they psychopathic in Jesus’ masks?

As the Bishop, under the church rules, you are responsible to correct the cruel sinful actions by the ordained clergies, elders, members, etc.

WHY SAMMUL EDITORIAL BOARD LIE?

Furthermore, Rev. Chul Woo Chang maliciously organized this Editorial Board to let Ms. Kwang Hee Kim write a fake article in April 2011 issue of Sammul, 90th anniversary of the founding of the church. She criminalized our family to public in reverse of their fake lawsuits against our family this time, as if we sued them to cover up their criminal actions to the congregation and Korean immigrant community as Taliban like conspiracies.

All records indicate they sued us, but we did not sue them.
This Ms. .Kwang Hee Kim’s fake article would not forgive their clergy crimes stealing church money, $multimillion antique bathtub or the cruel mass murder charges against the innocent family in violation of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The editorial board members and Rev. Chul Woo Chang committed libel against our family to justify his mentor’s criminal actions. How could you allow them to do so in Jesus masks against our family, me, my beloved wife, and my beloved son?

Needless to say, the editors maliciously motivated to literally cover up Rev. Won Tae Cha’s차원태목사, Rev. Chul Woo Chang’s and other officers anti Christian criminal ministry. Some of them greatly disgraced their children, family and Alma Meta too.

The poor young souls of the Editorial Board practically were criminally joined liars, demonstrating the traditional corrupt nature of this church and Korean immigrant society, even corrupt academicians to glorify their status as church members in very mean way regardless its moral implications as if they were really power hungry ones, with Taliban like ambitions.

Rev. Paul Chul woo Chang, – Philip Kim, and Columbia faculty. Chul Woo Chung, Brookhaven National Laboratory. Hojoon Jon, Chief editor, Joong Hyon Cho, Young Nan Ha, assistant pastor – all of them disgracing their own professional reputations and constantly supporting the criminal church tricks.

These brilliant young committee members seem to be morally colorblind and unable to see the right from the wrong even though they are professed Christians who evidently misunderstood that they could upgrade their status in any means, regardless the facts that the clergy and church officers committed crimes against elderly helpless family in order to steal the church treasures under the guidance of pseudo clergies and their dopy followers.

Ms. Kim Kwang Hee maliciously wrote a fraudulent article as if I filed the cruel lawsuits against them as attempted mass murderers, demanding $8,000,000
in reverse of Rev. Won Tae Cha’s criminal clergy conspiracies. A note worthy affidavit signed by Columbia faculty .Kwang Taeg Rim with others initiated one of the three lawsuits.

How the vivid criminal facts could be deceived by anyone except dopy members as Moslem radicals.
She and former trustee chairman Sei Chun always tried to misrepresent the cruel mass murder charges to the congregation really to injure us for many years.

KOREAN CHURCH ARCHIVES

The costly court papers related with the antique bathtub, the fake mass murder case and others are great historical valuable documents for our church history of decade’s corruptions.

The Korean Methodist Church and Institute should preserve them forever as the educational data for our children and the historians on the abnormal or criminal psychology of the Korean immigrant Christians which created the criminal church functions of Korean corruptions in Jesus’ name.

Also we must preserve the age old church furniture too if any which used by many patriots in the past.

For example, the Korean national anthem composer Ik Tae Ahn composed the Korean national anthem while rooming in the church dormitory in 1932s before his departure to European schooling. No doubt, Ik Tae Ahn took bath in the $multimillion bathtub. now it was stolen. Most of all let us restore our Korean national treasure and the reputations in good faith in honor of Jesus Christ.

WHY NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE ANTIQUE BATHTUB AND EMBEZZLEMENT?

It is tragic to see that nobody seems to care about the Church treasures but dishonest “Chaliban” group. Let us find out where Rev. Won Tae Cha차원태목사keeps the stolen our Church’s $multimillion antique bathtub? Why all the church members are not trying to recover the valuable treasure? They seem to be brain washed, opiated or alienated from the traditional Christian faith by the smart dishonest clergy brainwashing.

AUDIT THE CHURCH FINANCES SINCE REV. CHA

The first step to restore our faith in Christ is to audit the abused church funds to restore the historic faith.

Let us follow the 8th commandment:” Thou shalt not steal”

Audit shall show clearly the directions how to recover the stolen church money from the bully clergies and his followers and can restore the church in faithful status.

The New York State Attorney General’s Nonprofit Bureau did investigate the status of the embezzlements of the church trust fund. But Rev. Won Tae Cha차원태목사, fake Columbia MBA Steve H. Park, fake MD at CUNY Sophie Davis Young Kim and others had politically very strong attorney Morton Povman, according to them.

They seemed to have misinformed the State Authority as if they were representing the church for the embezzlement investigation to cover up their own abuse of the church trust fund although they were actually involved in the embezzlements. Consequently the authority was also appeared cheated by them and able to recover only partly of the abused funds.

CHAIRMAN KIM’S INACTION

During the investigation, Assistant Attorney General Nathan Courtney ordered then Chairman Hyun Jung Kim to recover the stolen fund. But he ignored it.

As previously noted the 90th anniversary issue ‘Sammul”, [spring water] falsely represented the lawsuits as if I sued them. It was the wise trick to cover up their crimes, avoiding any audit to reveal the financial abuses.

BISHOP’S DUTY TO REDISCOVER
It remains to be seen how Bishop Jeremiah J. Park would manage conclusively this scandals.

Rev. Chul Woo Chang, 장철우 목사 Ms. .Kwang Hee Kim and the editorial board members committed a serious defamation against our family as charging us as if I filed the lawsuit against them.

Max Weber, Karl Marx and other social scientist foresaw Christianity will fade away as the society progresses. But the Korean church in this case is pushed down into declining criminal course even without advanced culture but by the moral decay of the clergy leadership. [21, 2

Rev. Chul Woo Chang and his comrades should understand the facts that the Bishop Jeremiah J. Park’s God given duty is to clean up his colleagues’ church crimes. Otherwise the ghosts will hunt them forever, urging to clean up the ugly church crimes and sins.

CORRECTIVE MEASURES BY THE BISHOP

Remember God’s commandments,” –‘Do not murder;’ ‘Do not commit adultery;’ Do not steal;’ ‘Do not lie in giving evidence;’ ‘Do not defraud;’ ‘Honor thy mother and father … (Mark 10:19)

As the leader of New York Annual Conference, Bishop Jeremiah J. Park ought to take the following corrective measures according to the commandments, the church rules, and the teachings of the Bible in honor of our faith. If these mishaps occurred in the secular professions, they already lost their positions according to the rules and law.

You must evaluate the bogus ministry of Rev. Chul Woo Chang, Rev. Won Tae Cha, Rev. Sung Soo Hahn and their staff under your guidance in light of their deceptive ministries for this historic church.

As the new pastor Young Bo Lee is appointed to this church, he would need a strong support from your Episcopacy to cure the past pathological ministry. Otherwise, the chance of the spiritual restoration of the church seems to be remote as the same old deviants are occupying the positions.

Let us restore law and order within the church system, especially, at least, within this historic Korean Methodist Church and Institute. The following steps need to follow for a new start:

1. Sponsor an open debate to determine how the Church could be rescued from the spiritual bankruptcies for a quarter century and start a renewal movement.

2. Reorganize the Board of Trustees consisting of faithful ones excluding the persons affiliated with Rev. Chul Woo Chang, Rev. Won Tae Cha group차원태목사and are involved in the scandals.
3. Audit the church financial records since Rev. Won Tae Cha’s appointment to recover the abused fund from the abusers for the fraudulent lawsuits and other embezzlements.
4. Recover the multimillion$ antique bathtub of the church stolen by Rev. Won Tae Cha according His interpreter Mr. Pyun Sun Whan for their court trial for the bathtub.
5. Make the critical analysis of the court papers to determine their mental and spiritual status, especially how Rev. Won Tae Cha in Christian faith maliciously conspired with the individuals who signed fake affidavits in support of the three fake lawsuits against our family, especially the mass murder charges. Most of them are now official staff of Rev. Chul Woo Chang.

Chang and the editors intentionally libeled our family as if I sued the church and plaintiffs, demanding $8,000,000 damages.

They tried to damage our family again in reverse of the facts although they actually sued us.

7. If they do not make the public apology, your Episcopacy should issue that public apology through mass media because the Episcopacy irresponsibly nurtured the conspiracies for long time. It is to inform your Episcopacy.

DO DEVIANT CLERGIES AND CHURCH OFFICERS NEED PERIODIC PSCHIATRIC EXAMINATIONS?

These chronic criminal behaviors of these clergies and his team seem to suggest examining their mental status because of their education and theological training failed to over come the evil temptations.

See the gunman James Holmes who raised in the
Christian family and smartly well educated. Suddenly his smartness as a PH.D. Candidate in the field of Neuroscience was failed. And he became a horrible mass murderer. His church people, friends, and faculty failed to notice his abnormal conducts and opened his way to the crimes.

The Korean Methodist and Institute’s false lawsuits and mass murder case strongly suggest the authorities of the church and government should examine their mental status to prevent further brutal crimes in the future.

Also it clearly indicates the unhealthy mentalities of some of the Korean immigrants, so called Christians.

How the Biblical teachings, Higher educations, Theological educations, or daily church life failed their value judgment on morality?
