졸업생 현황 자료도표를 보여줬는데.

세계 유명한 기업들 (맥킨지,골드만삭스,JP모건,마소,구글 등등)

인정사정없이 많이 보내더군요..

근데 골드만삭스나 블랜스톤에 가신분들을 보니깐

애널리스트부터 시작하시는거 보니 MBA과정을 마치고 가는게 아니라

학부과정을 마치고 가는거 같던데..

MBA출신들도 실력은 와튼학부과정하고 비슷하나요?

(지금 미국 금융계쪽 취업문이 많이 좁다고 하는데..

와튼스쿨생들한테는 해당없을정도로 세계 유명기업들을

무수하게 많이 보내더군요. 어떻게 이런 결과가 나오게

된건지;

WG 와튼MBA나왔슴다. 실제로 와튼에서 가장 똑똑하고 어그레시브한 애들은 언더임. 갸들은 잠도안자고 밤새도록 공부하는게 취미인듯. 같이 수업도 들었는데 시험보면 늘 1-2등은 언더. 투자은행 인턴쉽도 그들은 오퍼 수개씩들고 저울질합니다. 210.177.132.189 2008/08/14

이건 인터넷 서핑을 하다 본 글인데요.. MBA출신들도 언더 출신들만큼 세계 초일류기업 많이 취직하나요? 근데 MBA가 대학원 과정인데 학사출신들이 더 실력이 좋나요??

누가 더 낳다라고 말하기 힘드네요. 아이비리그 학부생들이 실력이 뛰어난것은 사실입니다만 MIT나 와튼 정도의 대학원도 아무나 가는 곳은 아니고 경력과 실력이 모두 있어야 한다고 보니 누가 나은지는 잘 모르겠습니다. 와튼 학부 나와서 와튼 MBA에 모두 들어갈수 있다고 보지는 않습니다. 배우는 과정도 다르고 그 목적도 다르니 비교하기 힘드네요. 보통은 대학원과정이 배우는 내용으로 본다면 당연히 학부보다 수준이 높다고 볼수 있습니다.

아니 꼭 우열을 가리는게 목적이 아니라서요.. 근데 제가 읽은 유명한 책중 “세계경제를 움직이는 와튼스쿨”이라는 책에서는 와튼스쿨생들에게 주어지는 정식 학위는 “경제학 학사”이다 이 문구하고 와튼스쿨 학생들은 MBA생들이 2년에 배울것을 4년에 걸쳐 배운다 등등 이였는데.. MBA와 학부과정때 와튼에서 배우는 과정이 달랐군요..

아마도 Core과정이라 불리는 기초과목들은 학부와 MBA학생들이 같이 수강하는 경우가 종종 있을 겁니다. 하지만 MBA의 가치는 elective과목들이죠… 어마어마한 학비를 내는 만큼 그런 과목들까지 학부들과 같이 수강한다면 와튼이 지금의 명성을 유지하기는 힘들었을 겁니다 ^^
취업의 경우도 학부, MBA모두 잘될겁니다. 회사이름만 죽 나열한다면 거의 차이가 없겠죠. 차이라면 아마 title과 starting salary… 학부와 비교될 정도라면 역시 와튼이 지금의 명성을 유지하기는 힘들었을 겁니다 ^^

core는 학부랑 같이 않듣습니다. elective를 같이 듣게 되는데 학부생중에 선수과목의 성적이 아주 우수한 학생의 경우 “일부” 대학원수업을 들을수가 있습니다. (즉, 모든 학부생들이 다 대학원하고 같은 수업을 듣는거는 아니죠). 성적좋은 학부생중에 더 깊이파고들고 싶다면 대학원수업을 듣죠….

I went to UPENN for my undergrad. Undergrad who went to UPENN for BS in management at Wharton school, we don’t say we went to the Wharton school on our resumes. Only MBA graduates can write on their resumes that they went to Wharton MBA. This is UPENN career center policy in order to minimize any confusion between business undergrad students and Wharton MBA.
In terms of taking classes, undergraduate and MBA grad take many classes togather and many classes are taught by the same professor and same course materials. Grading policies can be less rigorous to undergrad though.
When UPENN business undergraduates decide to go to MBA, many of us go to different MBA school like Harvard. We don’t go back to Wharton unless for Finance because many of us already took similar courses as undergrad and many of us want to go different places. Hope this can answer some of these questions
