이런 경우에 딱맞는 영어 표현이 있을까요?

원글님이 원하신 건 “그가 거짓말한 걸 애써 외면하다” 인것 같은데 모든 사람이 어떤 사실을 애써 외면하다 라는 표현은 아래의 관용적 표현이 있습니다.

to put efforts to disregard~/to put efforts to underestimate 어떨까요?

딱 맞는 관용표현이 떠오르지 않으면 전 그냥 지어냅니다. 상황에 맞게 해야겠지만요.

I pretend to be blind to the harsh reality. 나는 어려운 현실을 못본척 한다.
I try to be blind to the harsh reality. 나는 어려운 현실을 외면하려 한다.
I pretend not to notice that he lied. 나는 그가 거짓말한 것을 모르는 척 한다.

윗분중 try not to face 같은 표현도 좋은 것 같습니다. 변형해 보면, try not to admit (the reality)이나 try not to accept (the fact that he lied)같은 표현도 괜찮을 것 같습니다.
