간호학교 첨부터 들어가서 5년은 공부해야될텐데

일단 가장 중요한걸 빼먹으셨어요. 지역이 어디세요? 먼저 저는 간호사가 아니란걸 밝힙니다. 주변에 간호사 친구는 꽤 있어요.

간호사가 되고 싶으면 LVN/LPN으로 시작 가능해요. 1년 정도 교육 받고 시험 치면 돼요. 시급 12.50 이상은 벌고 경험 쌓기에 도움이 될거 같아요.

RN 이 되려면 최소 CC에서 ADN 은 받아야 되는데, 모든 주에서 ADN으로 RN시험을 볼수 있는진 모르겠어요. 캘리포니아는 가능한데 문제는 ADN출신 RN은 취업이 어려워요. 좀 작은 병원에서 시작해서 경험 쌓고 이직하거나, RN으로 일하면서 동시에 BSN 따려고 학교 다닐수 있는데 ADN이나 BSN이나 프로그램 자체가 들어가기가 힘들어요. ADN to BSN bridge 프로그램도 있으니까 하나 따고 다른거 따도 되고, 처음부터 BSN 해도 되고요. 경제적으로 생각하면 CC에서 ADN 하는게 제일 낫겠죠? 공립과 사립학교는 학비가 2-3배 차이 나니까 어지간하면 공립 가세요. 근데 사립이 조금 더 들어가기 쉽고 졸업도 좀 빠를거에요.

한인 간호사 친구들이 공통적으로 한 말이 있어요. 필리피노 간호사들이 너무 많아서 그 사이에 끼는게 어렵대요. 서로만 챙겨주고 외국인 (비필리피노)을 차별해서 politics 문제가 크대요. 12시간 쉬프트는 장점이 될수도 단점이 될수도 있고 페이는 대다수 만족하는거 같았어요. 페이는 정말 병원마다 달라서 간호사들도 서로 큰 병원으로 이직하는게 목표더라구요.

카드빚이 15000불이라면 다른 세이빙은 없는거 같은데 그럼 학비는 모두 장학금이나 론으로 해결해야겠네요… fafsa 신청 꼭 하세요. 대학 다닌 적 없으면 아직 그랜트 나올거 같고 또 25-29살, 30살 이상만 받을수 있는 aid가 따로 있어요.

외국에 있는 여자친구를 초청해서 결혼하는데 만불 예상이라면, 만불 세이빙과 카드빚 페이를 동시에 하는게 먼저네요. 무조건 허리띠 졸라매세요. 여기에 오토론이랑 학자금까지 하면 갚는데 좀 오래 걸리겠지만 미국인들도 다 있는 오토론이랑 학자금인데요 뭐.

저는 미국 사회의 장점 중 하나가 it’s never too late 인거 같아요. 28살에 간호공부 시작하는게 뭐가 어떤가요? 학교 가면 동생같은 학생도 있을거고 애가 셋은 될것 같은 학생도 있을거에요. 저 고등학교 다닐때 교생 분이 변호사 20년 하다가 교사가 되고 싶어서 다시 학교 가서 공부하고 실습 나왔다고 하시더라구요.

한국에서ㅜ삼십대중반에 미국와서 커뮤니티칼리지에서 간호전공후 알엔된 사람입니다. 이십대중반이며뉴뭘못하겠나요. 단지 잘못된장보를 가진걱 같아서. ADN 도 미국전주에서 NCLEX RN test 보고 알엔될수있구요 알엔되면 BSN 온라인으로ㅠ일녕반정도하면됩니다 그리고 LVN도 시작이 $25정도되구요. 알엔은 new graduates 이 캘리포니아 병원이면$40블선에서 시작입니다. 저도 미국병원에취업해서 십년째다니는데 뭔들못하겠나요. 알엔은 잡이 너무많습니다 병원만이 아니라 할수있는 분야가 무궁무진합니다

Why don’t you join the U.S Army as 68C(MOS) LPN/LVN and get some experience in nursing or medical field.
The U.S Army will educate and train soldiers in “RN-level” even though they will eventually take “NCLEX-PN” not NCLEX-RN then you can later earn a direct commission as an officer from enlist level if you become a nurse officer. Not only getting paid during being training and educating in becoming “Licensed practical nurse” in the military but you can also hold your license after military which means you can use it in civilian side. Especially, you have a little debt and you are planning to get married. Enlisting as 68C might be the best option in your current circumstance. They pay you and provide your schooling, food , free health insurance and rent if you have a dependent.
The bottom line is ” you can earn your degree or license whatsoever you want to become ending up with no cost at all”. as I mentioned several times above.
Consider it seriously, if you have any more questions let me know.

Note: if you are interested in joining the U.S army, please do after you get naturalized because a green card holder is currently subjected to screening under OPM(T3) nowadays. It takes six months at least to be cleared.
And study hard for ASVAB, 68C is required to get score over GT107(MATH and ENGLISH).

제 와이프가 RN입니다. 일단 나이는 문제가 아니고 특히 RN은 늦은 나이에 시작하는 미국인들 많습니다. 저는 50에 시작해서 지금 일잘하는 미국아주머니도 봤습니다.

근데 님에 상황을 보면 돈이 제일 문제입니다. 일단 nursing school 비쌉니다. 그리고 nursing 공부 알바뛰면서 슬슬할만큼 쉽지않습니다. 물론 알바해봐야 학비 생활비 충당은 말도 안되고. CC로 가서 2년만에 RN하고 어떻게든 취업해서 온라인으로 BSN과정 하는 방법도 있습니다. 그러나 현실적으로 지역마다 다르지만 대부분 CC nursing program 들어가려면 몇년기다려야 합니다. 줄을 섰어요. 또 말이 2년이지 선수과목이 있어요. 그래서 대부분 1년은 선수과목을 듣는데 all A로 깔아야 그나마 본과 로 갈 수 있는 가능성이 있습니다. 그래서 3년과정 이상은 잡아야 합니다. 그리고 그 과정도 무지하게 빡셉니다. 2년안에 시험볼 준비 다 해야 하기때문에 쉬지않고 달립니다. 내가 아는 미국애들도 파트타임잡 자 관두고 매달렸어요. 또 하나는 요즘엔 CC에서 RN따면 취업바로하기 힘듭니다. 예전엔 취업하고 슬슬해서 BSN땄는데 이젠 BSN아니면 아예 인터뷰도 안해요.

현실적으로 제일쉬운건 4년제 사립nursing school 가는게 제일 빠릅니다. 공립은 싸긴한데 그 이유로 대기자도 많아서 들어가기 쉽지않고 과정중에 성적 좀 나쁘면 나가라고 하기때문에 중도하차률도 많습니다.

님이 현제 카드빛 만5천불에 알바로 self supporting 한다? …..내가 보기엔 nursing school 은 커녕 현제 카드빛 도 pay off 하기 힘들어 보입니다. 그게 그렇게 쉬우면 원래 카드빛을 질일도 없었겠죠. 게다가 결혼까지? 부모님이나 정부도움없다면 불가능하다고 봄. 빛만땅으로 공부하고 값아야쥐뭐. 평생 그빛가지고 가는 사람고 많고. 돈은 인생에 기회를 결정합니다.

It is time to think wisely unless you have enough budget for supporting your schooling and paying your current debt off.
Let me emphasize this again, you will be end up with another huge debt from either private or public school loan somehow by the time you earn BSN. It will be a heavy burden in both financially and psychologically, your future spouse too. Study nursing is not easy to achieve. As some wise saint advised you already , it is extremely hard to get a job right after graduating from CC (ADN) even BSN nowadays due to not preferring a nurse to be hired without any pre-experience in most hospitals. You might get a job some countryside though.

To tell the truth, getting into the military is the best option and is not bad that I believe as long as you are concerned about the money, otherwise, you will spend your money and time only for the paying your rest of debt during several years or decade even life time.

나이는 중요하지않다고 봅니다.
제 와이프가 작년 BSN 졸업하면서 학교가보니, 백인이 윗분말씀처럼 80~90%던데요? 물론 지역마다 차이는 있겠지만 Diversity가 높은 지역임에도 불구하고 대부분이 백인 인걸 보면, RN 인종비율은 백인이 많다고 생각이 됩니다.
