Colombia initially resisted U.S. President Donald Trump’s demands regarding the acceptance of deportation flights but later agreed to his terms.
Early on January 26, 2025, Colombian President Gustavo Petro denied entry to two U.S. military aircraft carrying deported Colombian migrants, prompting Trump to announce tariffs and visa restrictions among other retaliatory measures.
However, by the end of the day, the White House stated that Colombia had agreed to all of Trump’s terms, including accepting the deportation flights on U.S. military aircraft without limitation or delay.
This agreement was confirmed by Colombian Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo, who stated that the “impasse” with the U.S. government had been “overcome.”
결국 콜롬비아 대통령이 싸우다가 굴복하고 외무장관이 백악관 발표를 인정한 것으로 끝났슴. 다만 첫번째 백악관 성명에서 colombia를 columbia로 표기해서 웃음거리가 된 것인 옥에 티로 보임.
가장 먼저 불체자 공군기 추방을 거부한 멕시코에 대한 대응이 어떻게 될지 두고 봐야할 듯.
