It is also true that it was a hot study area 10 years ago. But remember the US economy got hit by the sub-prime crisis. And since then, I feel people have tried to avoid it thanks to this stigma. I personally didn't like the studying/disciplines; so I am not defending or justifying for what you and I believe. However, one thing is clear. People only see one side of FE. If you look into it, you will discover there are different tracks you can build a career upon. This shouldn't be concluded by a few anecdotal examples. I agree to the terms of service Comment
