How much money should a person put in a funeral card if they are just co workers?

I didn’t realize you were supposed to give money.
I’ve never heard of people donating money when a coworker is bereaved.
I have known people to chip in on one large flower arrangement from the office etc. but never heard of coworkers donating money to give to the spouse.
I also have never heard of putting money in a funeral card.
you put money in funeral cards? I’ve never heard of having a whiparound for a funeral before.
I never knew you were supposed to give money.
I have never heard of people putting money in a card for a funeral, it seems really strange to me. Are you sure they weren’t collecting money for flowers from your office, or donating money to a charity “in lieu of flowers”?
I do $25 for the memorial fund for acquaintances and $50 for friends. I do that in lieu of flowers.
