Then, my attorney filed my prevailing wage based upon my local area, but DOL (?) gave us a national prevailing wage that was too much higher than my salary. Thus,  my attorney demonstrated the current local prevailing wage to them and they accepted it.  This process took for months. 

Filing DOL à  5/5

Received dates:  I-485  and I-140 (no premium) à 8/31

Bio finger printing à 10/29

Approval dates:  I-485 à 12/9

                              I-140 à 12/10

Welcome letter notice dateà  12/10

Green card received by mail à 12/ 15 (?)

I was confused by USCIS status check because it seemed that they did not update their decisions immediately.  My status of I-140 was still in the stage of initial review even on the day before I received green card by mail.   After the email notice of I-485 approval, actually I called USCIS  if  they approved I-140. But, the representative told me they cannot give any information to employees in regard to the decision of  I-140 because their employers filed it.  She said my employer should call them and ask about it.   Several days later, the approval letter of I-140 was delivered to my employer and he gave me a copy of it.  I was very happy  that all the petitions had been approved.

Regarding to finger printing, I went to a local USCIS office on the day they arranged. I did not know they accepted coming earlier than the allocated date.

Please be aware that your photo that will be taken with finger printing would appear on your green card. I did not know that neither. So, when I got my green card, I was so surprised by my strange photo, looks like an unhappy North Korean woman.  I should take care of my appearance on the day of finger printing.

처음 미국에왔을때, 주위에서 영주권받기위해 많은 어려움을 격는 사람들의 고달픈 이야기들을 들은 적이있었습니다.  불가피하게 불법 체류자가 되어 쉽게 갈 수도 있었을 길을 더 먼 길로 돌아가거야 만 했던 사람들, 혹은 변호사를 잘못만나 필요이상의 많은 돈과 시간을 소비한 사람들, 등등.  따라서, 영주권을 얻는 것이 하늘의 별따기만큼 힘든일이라고 생각해 왔었지만,제가 경험한 바에 의하면, 미국에서  합법적인 신분을유지해왔고,  요구하는 규칙들을 잘지켜왔고 (예를 들면, 세금보고, 등등), 미국 영주권자가 되기위해 필요한  자격들이 갖추어 졌다면, 영주권이 그렇게 어려운 길만은 아닌 것 같다는 생각을 합니다. 

또 한 가지 영주권 절차에서 중요한 것은 본인의 케이스에 경험과 지식이 많은 변호사를 찾아 케이스를 위임하는 것인데,  이점에 있어서, 특히, 저의 분야에서는 좋은 변호사
