Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Security Solution Administrator to join our team for a critical national semiconductor technology project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and daily operation of our secure cloud infrastructure. You will play a vital role in protecting sensitive research data and ensuring compliance with federal regulations by managing our secure collaboration platform (PreVeil or Microsoft GCC High) and our AWS cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Secure Platform Support: Assist in deploying, configuring, and managing the secure collaboration platform (PreVeil or Microsoft GCC High) to facilitate secure data sharing.
• Cloud Security Assistance: Support the administration of our AWS environment by helping to manage Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), IAM roles, security groups, and network access controls under the guidance of the lead administrator.
• Network Monitoring: Help monitor network connections (AWS Direct Connect, VPNs) and cloud services (using tools like CloudWatch) for security alerts, anomalies, and performance issues.
• Compliance & Data Protection: Support the implementation and enforcement of security controls to protect confidential data, helping to maintain compliance with standards like ITAR/EAR.
• Incident Response Support: Assist in responding to security incidents by helping with initial triage, collecting data for investigation, and implementing remediation steps as directed.
• System Maintenance: Provide support for the security of core AWS services, including EC2, S3, and RDS, and assist with data management workflows.

Qualifications
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of experience in IT security, Cybersecurity, or related role.
• Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms, with a strong interest in learning AWS.
• Basic understanding of core networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Familiarity with security concepts and a desire to work with tools like AWS IAM, VPC, and security monitoring systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards learning.
• Exposure to or an interest in administering PreVeil or Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC) High.
• Previous experience working on government-funded or federal research projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks related to government projects (e.g., ITAR, EAR, NIST).
• Relevant entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).
