    Job Overview:
    As part of Toyota Group’s electrification strategy, we are recruiting a Battery System Control Engineer to develop, optimize and validate the battery management system (BMS) and its control algorithms for the next generation of hybrid and electric vehicle projects. You will work closely with the global engineering team to drive high safety, performance and reliability of battery system control.

    Main Responsibilities:
    Develop and optimize control strategies and embedded algorithms for battery systems (especially lithium batteries)

    Design and implement key functions in battery control modules, such as SOC/SOH estimation, voltage/current/temperature management

    Responsible for the architecture, code development and debugging (C language) of BMS embedded software

    Support functional safety (ISO 26262) required design and development process

    Work closely with electrical, system, safety, testing, manufacturing and other departments to ensure smooth project delivery

    Analyze real vehicle and bench test data and continuously improve control strategies

    Write and maintain control system technical documents, software specifications and test cases

    Participate in supplier evaluation, component selection and software integration

    Job requirements:
    Bachelor degree or above in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, automation, vehicle engineering and other related majors

    More than 5 years of experience in embedded control systems, battery systems, BMS or vehicle electronics

    Proficient in C language and experience in embedded system development (such as ARM, TI and other platforms)

    Familiar with battery system control algorithms, such as SOC/SOH estimation, thermal management, etc.

    Familiar with CAN communication protocol, UDS diagnosis, and understand automotive electronic architecture

    Able to understand circuit diagrams and have basic hardware interface debugging capabilities

    Experience in the automotive industry or Tier 1/OEM background is preferred

    Good English communication skills and able to work in a mixed Japanese and American engineering environment

    Preferred conditions (bonus points):
    ISO 26262, ASPICE or functional safety project experience

    Familiar with MATLAB/Simulink modeling or model automatic code generation

    Experience in power battery pack, module or thermal management system projects

    Familiar with Toyota development process or have worked in Japanese/South Korean/American Japanese companies is preferred
