JOB SUMMARY
The Pickling & Coating Production Manager is responsible for providing direction and overseeing the smooth operation of the Pickling and Coating Processes and personnel that work within this area.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*:

Essential Functions Statement(s)1. Wire coils per work instruction; transport coils, follow the Production Order to the production line (Coil Identification, Coil#, Steel Grade, Steel Size, Weight).
2. Storing and stacking materials according to company standards.
3. Operate and tend machines to wash and remove impurities from the wire rod.
4. Responsible for adding specific amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution-level concentrations.
5. Drain, clean, and additionally refill the machine or tank at designated intervals using cleaning solutions or water.
6. Drawing samples for laboratory analysis.
7. Observe machine operations, gauges, and thermometers and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
8. Test solutions for conformance to specifications, like acidity or specific gravity.
9. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly facility checks.
10. Set controls to regulate the temperature length of cycles and start conveyors, pumps, agitators, and other machines.
11. Record gauge readings, materials used, processing times, and test results in production logs.
12. Adjust clean and lubricate mechanical parts or machines parts or machines using tools and grease guns.
13. Must be skilled in reading measuring instruments, (micrometer, Vernier calipers, etc.).
14. Banding coils, cut sample (wires).
15. Packaging of product.
16. Being skilled in using measuring instruments (micrometer, Vernier calipers, etc.).
17. Other duties as instructed by Plant Manager/Plant Director/Drawing Supervisor.
18. Maintains cleaning, pickling, brushing, and pretreatment systems at the temperature, concentrations, and processing conditions required for this specific system.
19. Responsible for chemical testing of the systems and maintaining chemical feed supplies.
20. Accurately test all products for conformance to specifications; records test results and reports problem areas to the Plant Manager.
21. Maintains accurate records of processing conditions and test results as specified.
22. Balances line speed and makes necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
23. Visually inspect the strip for coating and mill defects.
24. Perform all functions in compliance with environmental, safety, and housekeeping requirements.
25. Works with Human Resources to hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff and resolve plant personnel grievances.
26. Maintains production reports for proper action and recording.
27. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
28. Work with the Plant Director to implement and maintain preventative maintenance environmental, health, and safety programs.
29. Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
30. Observe work, and monitor equipment indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
31. Performs special projects and other duties as directed

Education: Bachelor of Science Degree.
Experience: 2 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing setting or similar heavy industry.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in a Windows operating environment.
Certifications & Licenses: Forklift and Overhead Crane
Complex Problem Solving: Identifying problems and implementing solutions.
Troubleshooting: Determining the cause of errors and deciding on a solution.
Quality Control Analysis: Conduct inspections on the product to ensure it is within acceptable tolerance.
Operation Monitoring: Observing screens, coils, and personnel to ensure the machines are running properly.WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in a plant environment. Subject to normal plant hazards such as noise, heat, dust, moving machine parts, forklift traffic, electrical circuits, overhead cranes, hot and cold environments, etc.Expected Hours of Work
The employee will work a maximum of 40 hours per week. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May be required to work some weekends and may work longer hours on a needed basis.Equipment Used
