It is really quick.
Timeline for my daughter (minor) was to apply renewal (actually new one) on 6/30, to get notice to accept it on 7/5, to receive new one on the first week of September; USPS clerk said that it would take 6-8 weeks and actually indeed.
Then, for anyone who applies passport, consider your timeline upto 8 weeks.
