    Summary

    The Senior Analyst, East KD Operations will provide and monitor customer service for inbound/outbound traffic regarding the transportation of auto parts for U.S. manufacturing plants (Related vendors for Hyundai/Kia and Suppliers) with container moves.

    Compensation
    $52k-$58k Per Year

    Responsibilities

    Provide Inbound & Outbound Operation Services
    Monitor daily transaction & C/S – Monitor ocean inbound container moves from the container origin
    Monitor any issues with customs and line hold on the container and handle any issues prior to port of arrival
    Timely preparation of all required documentation to meet required delivery dates
    Coordinate with Customers to Support Daily Inquires
    Maintain a list of all approved carriers and route guides by management and implement an effective cost-saving container transportation system
    Thoroughly understand customer’s demands and adjust daily operations to fit customer’s needs including container delivery date change requests
    Send container tracing reports to customers weekly or daily requested by the customer
    Manage Demurrage/Detention/Chassis Charge to Minimize Cost for the Customers
    Be able to calculate any fees that occurred for containers including demurrage, detention, chassis, storage, pre pull, stopover, driver detention and etc., and advise customers in a timely manner with occurring charges
    Notify customer in advance of the containers that may occur and any charges
    Notify any occurred charges to the Accounting department so they can invoice customers
    Monitor Urgent Container Moves Daily
    Set up any urgent container moves including late gate, weekend gate open at the port, and arrange with the trucking company to ensure container deliveries to the customer warehouse
    On-call 24/7 for any urgency to container movements
    Notify customers with updates from when the container departs from the port to the customer warehouse including the estimated time of arrival and current location of the container
    Timely entry of container movements in Genisys system daily needed
    Report Statistical Container Moves to the Manager
    Be able to report container inbound movement reports (transit times of vessel, daily, weekly, or monthly container movements) to the upper management in a timely manner when requested

    Skills

    Requires a strong sense of urgency, independent judgment, and problem-solving as well as strong excellent communication, planning, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
    Proficient computer skills required
    Intermediate-level MS Excel is required
    Experience with MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint is highly preferred
    Knowledge of general freight forwarding terms and standards and incoterms.
    Basic knowledge of accounting functions and relative information retrieval.
    Preferred self-started that can operate under minimal supervision.

    Education & Experience

    Bachelors Degree Required
    Two (2) Years of Experience in Freight Forwarding/Logistics/Supply Chain Management Required

    Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
