Ultium Cells Overview:
Ultium Cells is a joint venture Lithium-Ion Automotive Battery Cell Manufacturing plant between LG Chem and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest Battery Cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest Battery Cell Manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce Battery Cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.
The Ultium cell partners include LG Chem; the world’s largest manufacturer of Automotive Battery Cells in the world and General Motors a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around.
Role Purpose:
The Human Resource (HR) Specialist will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations and inform both leadership and headquarters. The specialist will also support the HR Team, Team Leader, and HR Advisor with the development and implementation of a variety of developmental and continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
• Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, external sources and benchmarks, and other sources.
• Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, advertising/marketing activities, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, adherence to internal policy, compliance to employment laws and regulations, etc.
• Prepares reports of data results and trend analyses for leadership.
• Conduct audits to ensure accuracy and completeness of HR data.
• Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned (including but not limited to maintaining HR IT systems and website, providing translation and interpretation support, etc.).
• Manages and maintains the organization’s headcount data and creates headcount plan.
• Prepares cost analyses (labor budgets and projections, etc) and adjustment reports (salary, etc).
• Corresponds with both headquarters and responds to requests
Qualifications:
2-3+ years established HR or Planning Generalist experience in a manufacturing company.
Experience supporting the business at the individual contributor level.
Professional HR certification(s) preferred, but not required.
Exceptional listening and communication skills. Ability and interest in understanding intent prior to responding or advising actions.
A commitment to finding solutions in partnership with leadership, team members, and the business. Balancing solutions-first decision making with risk management.
