Everyone should get the facts right.

To be accurate, I looked through this case over online.

It seemed that two Korean students hit each other and one of them got a brain injury. the US prosecutor dropped the case probably because he/she found no criminal intent. This case could have been brought as a civil negligence suit, where the victim’s family could have won no question. The aggressor student came back to Korea for college, and then the father of the victim sued the aggressor in Korea. Both US prosecutor and Korean lower court found no criminal intent. The higher court could have found a criminal negligence.

Per the hospital incident, I highly doubt that US major hospitals would commit such activities, for they can get sued for punitive damages. I don’t think the aggressor Korean student will have that much power and leverage to influence the hospital either.
