Service Fee housing is property on which the owner pays a service fee in lieu of property taxes. You can find out if a property is subject to service fee by contacting your local treasurer. If you live in service fee housing, you may claim 10% of your rent. See the MI-1040 booklet for instructions on computing a credit for residents of service fee housing.
