    Thanks for your helpful advice but I still have some problems.
    I am at work right now, so I don’t have Korea IME installed on my computer.
    I already have a lauder and my husband is using internet on his laptop with wireless network card.
    So I bought a wireless card for me and tried to install but I faced some problem while I was installing.
    While I was running installation kit, “Insert Window 98 2nd edition” message appeared.
    I don’t know why this is required for my computer because my husband installed the wireless card without this. (His one is Window XP though)

    I don’t have Window 98 2nd edition, actually, I don’t know what exactly this is. My husband gave me a Window 98 CD that he has kept. But this doesn’t do anything. Also, as far as I know, Compaq computer has its own CD for Window unlike any other brand.
    My friend has tried to update to Window XP on my computer but he was not able to do that because this stupid Compaq required its own program or something.
    So I am not sure if I can install network card due to all this…

    What should I do? Should I give up installing network card? I really want to use internet on my laptop.
    What is wrong with my computer? Help me out…

      윈98의 경우 드라이버 설치하면서 카드 업체에서 제공하는 드라이버 혹은 윈도우즈 시디를 요구할 수 있습니다. (윈 98이 카드보다 훨씬 예전에 만들어졌으니 당연하겠지요?)
      이 때, 요구하는 파일명이 현재 98에 있다면 CD없이 해당 폴더를 선택해주시면 설치할 수 있습니다.
      원98은 1st edition과 2nd edition이 있습니다.
      compaq에서 제공하는 cd는 출시시 설치되었던 윈도우즈 및 기타 응용 프로그램을 초기 상태로 복구할 수 있는 cd일 것입니다.
      그리고 제 생각에는 이 cd안에 해당 윈도우즈 버전이 들어 있을 겁니다.
      xp로 설치가 불가능하다는 말씀은 조금 이해가 가지 않는데요, 업그레이드말고 포맷 후 설치하시면 무조건 가능하실겁니다. 단, xp 설치에 적합한 사양인지는 미리 확인하시고요. 사양이 높지 않으시면 xp보다는 2000을 권장합니다.

      As you said the CD that compaq gave me is Recovery CD. Are you saying that I can try that instead of Window 98 2nd eddition? None of my friends has Win98SE, so I need to fiqure out what to do. I will check the details of my computer when I get home. So please check my reply later. Again, I really appreciate your help.

      1. Recovery CD가 어떻게 만들어졌는지에 따라 안에 98SE가 있을 수도 있고 없을 수도 있습니다.
      즉, 전체가 고스트와 같은 이미지로 되어 있으면 찾으실 수 없고, 디렉토리로 나누어져 있으면 찾으실 수 있습니다.
      분명 찾는 파일이 있을 겁니다. 그걸 탐색기로 CD에서 찾아보세요.
      2. 파일 공유하는 사이트에서 98SE 쉽게 찾으실 수 있는데…
      어제 잠깐, 파일구리, 네오폴더, 오렌지파일 등에서 찾아보았는데, 쉽게 검색이 되더군요.
      3. 모델과 사양은 잘 모르시는 건가요?
