Employment Status: Full Time, Temporary (minimum 6 months)

Core Responsibilities:
• Supervises technicians in the installation, repair and maintenance of rail car systems.
• Schedules, assigns, plans and monitors the work of personnel performing a variety of rail car projects.
• Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and procedures for equipment maintenance.
• Prepares material and labor estimates.
• Monitors the acquisition and use of materials.
• Maintains time, work order, material, equipment and other records.
• Trains or informs employees of new work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, work policies and related codes and standards.
• Enforces safety regulations and adherence to proper codes and standards.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office Applications.
• Drive improvements and cost savings projects.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Works productively with others in a team environment.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Performs work following all applicable corporate safety, health and environmental procedures and policies.

Experience Requirements:
• 5+ years experience installation, repair and maintenance experience which includes one year of supervisor experience in an industrial environment.
OR
• Completion of a four year technical training program in install, repair and maintenance and two years of installation, repair and maintenance experience which includes one year of supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
• Rail Car or Automotive Industry experience preferred.

• Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of applications for machinery and equipment.
• Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of system equipment and components.
• Skill in estimating time and material requirements of assigned work projects.
• Read and understand mechanical/electrical prints.
• Familiarity with the metric system.
