Position Summary
The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for purchasing products from the specific vendors he/she is assigned to. It is the Assistant’s responsibility to;

• Monitor all purchase orders (PO’s) submitted to each vendor
• Track plant production and modes of transit to ensure timely product arrival
• Maintain pre-determined inventory levels In order to maintain desired inventory levels the
Assistant must review current movement and account for future sales.

Responsibilities
• Required to have a good negotiatio skill for the best price
•Send orders to each vendors based on current and anticipated usage.
•Coordinate vendors with corporation or franchisee stores, and follow up with them, so orders ship in time to meet their requested warehouse arrival date.
•Arrange transit of the order with the corresponding freight forwarder or trucker to ensure timely delivery to destination.
•Make sure vendor price lists on the server are always the most current.
•Make sure all pricing on PO’s is correct, invoices are approved and submitted to Accounting before the payment deadline.
•Send projections to suppliers when required.
•Meet with the Purchasing Manager to make sure they’re following purchasing protocol and review/discuss pending issues.
•Communication with customers(Store owners and vendors)

Position Qualifications/Functional Skills
• 3-5 years of experiences in purchasing field
• Ability to effectively gather and manage critical information.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to report and communicate efficiently with respective departments.
• PC proficiency (Excel, Database programs, information system etc.)
