U.S. Customs and Border Protection is rolling out an automated I-94 (record of admission) process. This means when you enter the U.S. through a port of entry, you will no longer receive a paper I-94 card. An electronic copy of the I-94 will be available after your arrival to the U.S. online at http://www.cbp.gov/I94. This electronic copy will be printable and still necessary when proving immigration status or applying for benefits such as a driver’s license or a Social Security Number. We highly recommend that you print a copy of each I-94 record shortly after your arrival to ensure that you are maintaining a record of this travel.

CBP implemented this new process at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago on April 30, 2013.  For the entire implementation schedule and other frequently asked questions, please see the I-94 Fact Sheet and CBP website http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/i-94_instructions/i94_rollout.xml.
