Overview

One of the largest Korean owned home appliance company
located in North Chicago area  is looking
for an experienced and skilled Network/Server Engineer to build, support, and
maintain the server infrastructure environment and ensure the
reliability/resiliency of our Systems. As a Network/Server Administrator, you
must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to
go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented
and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also
important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and
interpersonal skills.

Job Title: Network/Server Engineer

experience in VoIP phone system, please read on!

In this position, you will be
responsible for:

– Manage data and application security by establishing
application and database security and by maintaining user accounts and
passwords

– Administer system servers, SQL Server databases, user
accounts; troubleshoot program and installation errors

– Prepares project plans and schedules, including
requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources and critical milestone review
points for projects

– Provides reports of problem and change management activity

– Manage and provide user support for third-party software
such as MAS200, Quickbook and various systems

– Evaluate database and new applications Request for
Proposals (RFPs) or changes

– Install, test, and upgrade software/applications, maintain
or develop technical documentation

– May be assigned to assist other departments with
implementing new software applications

– Provide personal computer hardware and software support to
user community

– Windows/Linux Server systems and OS hardening

– Web servers such as IIS and Apache

– Cisco Router/Firewall

– Load Balancer(L4 switch)

– Database servers such as MS SQL Server and MySQL

– Email server

– Analyze web server logs from IIS and Apache

– SAN/NAS Storages

– VoIP systems

– Life Cycle Management for hardware/software tech turn and
end of life

– Support Server Virtualization (research, design, test,
implement, maintain, and upgrade VMWare)

– Server Contingency Design & Testing

– Third Level Production Support

– Audit Compliance such as PCI

You will need:

– Excellent understanding of enterprise server environments
e.g. Servers, SAN storage, connectivity, Switches and routers.

– Excellent understanding of network Protocols like TCP/IP,
DNS, DHCP, SNMP, HTTP, SFTP, SMTP etc.

– Excellent understanding of basic Network and connectivity
standards, protocols and implementations

– General understanding of MS-SQL Database system

– General knowledge of VMWARE/SAN/NAS implementations.

– Basic understanding of LAN components and configurations.

– Windows/Linux Server and large production
environment(install/admin/troubleshooting software and hardware)

– Audit Compliance such as PCI

– PowerShell/Bash shell scripting

– VoIP phone server

Education and Experience

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

– 3-5 years experiences

Plus skills(Desired, not Required)

– Shoretel Phone system

– Enterprise-class server backup solutions

– Microsoft Certifications such as MCSE, MCDBA

– Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE

– Linux Certifications LPIC(or equivalent certificates in
Linux), Windows Server, Microsoft SCOM & SCCM, EMC Avamar
